I can get through about one shorter mission, but anything longer it will crash. I can only get through some missions using the Alt-T command to speed up the mission. I also have an issue where the mouse does not act calibrated and I cannot calibrate it (flies all over the screen, I have some control, but cannot precisely click anything.)
I now use DOSBox, that fixed the crashing issue, but I still have the mouse issue.

Does anyone know anything about how to fix either of these issues?

Re: How To run TIE Fighter Collector’s CD Edition on Windows XP

Hey I got it to work using VDMSOUND with joystick but the game is incredibly slow. I tried using DOSBOX since i see some posts above that declare the game is faster that way but after I mount the drive when I try to run TIE from the promt it loads the installer program (game is already installed). Any susegestions ?

Re: How To run TIE Fighter Collector’s CD Edition on Windows XP

BINGO - this worked. The game runs just fine, but at random intervals during combat mode the monitor will stop working. The monitor will start working again if I leave combat mode.

I am guessing that this problem can be fixed by checking the box labeled "Enable basic VESA support" in my previously posted instructions. But since this makes the game run way too slow, I have decided to just live with the problem.

If anyone finds a way to fix this problem without slowing the game down, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: How To run TIE Fighter Collector’s CD Edition on Windows XP

Is there a way to increase the mouse sensitivity? This will make the game run at a ridiculously slow speed.

Re: How To run TIE Fighter Collector’s CD Edition on Windows XP

Never mind. When I right click on the file to run it with VDMsound, there is only ONE VDMsound option, not two. It is the one WITH the note.

I have the same problem as Craig H. When I browse the directory of VDMsound, there is no file known as "autoexec.vdms". I even tried using the search option to find it. I am wondering if my version of VDMsound is different from yours. Out of curiosity, Jasonp107, what version did you use?

DosBox does not work in the slightest. Error 3 continues to appear for VDMsound even though I have a copy of the CD in the drive. I am starting to get desperate.
This is my last hope.

Re: How To run TIE Fighter Collector’s CD Edition on Windows XP

I can't install on Windows XP.... get an error message "incorrect command procedure" Tried the .exe.
